TESTING #781 MODULE:

There are 2 ways to test the resistance output on the #781 module, 1 is to simply set the dipswitches and measure the resistance across the (2) contact pads in front of the dipswitches, the other is to connect the RED wire from the # 781 to 12 v constant and connect the WHITE wire to GROUND, measure the resistance across the BLUE wire and the YELLOW wire from the #781 harness, this resistance value should be the same as the dipswitch settings on the unit and the contact pads......remove the WHITE wire from GROUND and the resistance value should then go away, if the resistance value is of different value than the dipswitch settings or if the resistance remains on these wires when the WHITE wire is removed from GROUND, then contact Tech Support....................

TESTING #781 for PASSKEY (VATS)

STEP 1:

Make sure that the RED wire from the # 781 module is connected to 12 v constant, then connect the WHITE wire from the #781 harness to GROUND with the #781 connected to the vehicle as stated in the manual, insert you key in the ignition switch and wait 1 min. then try and start the vehicle with the key, if the vehicle STARTS and remains running, move on to STEP 2: IF the vehicle does not start and run double check your resistance value on the vehicle, and make sure that the GREEN wire see towards the key and the YELLOW wire is towards the security module of the vehicle............

STEP 2:

Unplug the wiring harness from the #781, wait 1 min. insert the KEY in the IGNITION SWITCH and try to start the vehicle, it SHOULD NOT start, if it DOES NOT start move on to STEP 3: if it DOES start and run you are connected to the wrong PASSKEY wires in the vehicle...........

STEP 3:

Plug the harness back into the #781, making sure that the WHITE wire from the #781 harness is still on GROUND, wait 1 min. then press the START on the remote control, the vehicle SHOULD start and remain running, IF IT DOES, shut off the vehicle with the key, and remove the WHITE wire from GROUND and reconnect it to the WHITE (thin)16ga. wire on the 3pin harness coming from the relay pack...................

NOTE**** if when the vehicle is remote started and you turn your ignition key to the on position, step on the brake and the SECURITY light turns on, then remove the WHITE wire from the # 781 harness, and re-connect this wire to GROUND, remove the RED wire from the # 781 harness that is connected to 12 v constant, and re-connect this wire to the IGNITION 1 wire on the vehicle, this wire is the same wire you have the WHITE (heavy) 16 ga. wire from the relay pack connected to...................
