A: - All units will work with Fuel-Injected, gasoline engines as long as they have an Automatic transmission. The models that are Diesel capable are: DELUXE 12I/22I, DELUXE 62I and DELUXE 500 but the vehicle must also have an Automatic Transmission. If it is a Standard Shift Diesel the DELUXE 500 will work.

A: - The normal install time is anywhere between 2 and 4 hours. Some basic Remote Starter Models have been installed in or around 1 hour if you or the installer doing the job have experience in installing units before.

A: - The first Remote Control used automatically works, the 2nd Remote Control must be programmed using 1st Remote, see the instructions in the installation manual on how to program in a new remote control.

A: - YES, you can PROGRAM the RS-82I or RS-82P to REMOTE START using the FACTORY REMOTE CONTROL. You NEED to LOCATE the LOCK MOTOR wire in the vehicle that shows 12 VOLTS every time you PRESS the LOCK BUTTON on the FACTORY TRANSMITTER, then wire a RELAY Part 775 to the UNIT and PROGRAM it according to the Installation Manual.

A: - You will need to CLEAR MEMORY of the UNIT, this INFORMATION is in your INSTALLATION MANUAL or at the BULLDOG SECURITY WEBSITE in the TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE SECTION.

A: - Check the I.C. CHIP on the CIRCUIT BOAD of the NEW TRANSMITTER to see if it HAS the same NUMBER of LEGS as your WORKING TRANSMITTER.

A: - CHECK the MODEL NUMBER of the UNIT to see what POLARITY the PARKING LIGHT OUTPUT is in (IF UNIT HAS DIPSWITCHES CHECK THE SETTING). Then CHECK to see if it is connected to the CORRENT PARKING LIGHT in the vehicle. On some units, you may need to ADD a RELAY Part #775 DEPENDING on the PARKING LIGHT POLARITY TYPE of this VEHICLE.

A: - Make sure the unit is wired up for the CORRECT TYPE of DOORLOCK System in your vehicle. Test the LOCK/UNLOCK from the unit to see if it is PUTTING OUT the CORRECT VOLTAGE for the DOORLOCK TYPE on your Vehicle. Test the wires in the Vehicle to see if you are connected to the correct wire in the vehicle.

A: - The Remote Starter is in “OPERATOR SAFETY MODE/ INITIALIZATION MODE”, to get it out of this Mode, you must GROUND the BLACK/BLUE Hood Pin wire (Open the Hood if connected), connect (+) 12volts to the BLUE/BLACK Brake wire (press and hold the brake), Press and release the Start Button on Remote Control, the clicking and parking lights stop flashing then reverse the procedure.

A: - If it shuts OFF after 5 SECONDS and there is NO SECURITY LIGHT FLASHING on the DASH, CHECK to see if there is a IGNITION 2 on the vehicle and make sure it is CONNECTED, if it is CONNECTED, and it is not being Powered up by the Ignition 2 Output from the Remote Starter, the MODULE may need to be SERVICED.

A: - The installation guide explains how to install the Hood Pin Switch. It is a safety feature and it is a good idea to install the hood pin switch for your protection. On newer Remote Starters, the Hood Pin switch must be installed to do the Operator Safety Mode /Initialization Procedure.

A: – When Remote Starting you must press the STAR or START Button on the Remote Control 2 time for Remote Starting, if at this time the Remote Control BEEPS 3 times, you have 3 things you must check. 1. The H5/3 THIN BLACK wire on the DELUXE 500 and the H4/2 THIN BLACK wire on the DELUXE 200. 2. Make sure the H5/1 GRAY wire on the DELUXE 500 and the H4/4 GRAY wire on the DELUXE 200 is not seeing a GROUND. 3. I you have tried doing ANY programming the unit will need to be set back to Factory Default Mode as stated in your Installation Manual

A: – When Remote Starting you must press the STAR or START Button on the Remote Control 2 time for Remote Starting.

A: – When Programming these units you must be in UNLOCK Mode on the Remote Control, this is even if you did not connect up the Keyless Entry feature on the Remote Starter.

A: – When the Remote Control has “Z’s” on the LCD display this tells us the Remote Starter is in VALET Mode, the L.E.D. will also be “ON” and does not flash. Follow the information in the Installation Manual for Programming the VALET Mode “OFF”, this can be done by pressing the Trunk Button on the Remote Control 3 times or by turning the Ignition Key “ON”, then Press and Hold the Valet/Program Switch for 3 seconds until the Z’s are removed from the LCD Screen or the LED turn out.

A: - There is an A23 or A27 Remote Control battery in the remote transmitters. To open the transmitter, insert a coin in the groove at the top, press down and twist the coin and the two halves will separate. When you are finished changing the batteries, snap the two halves of the remote back together. Other Remotes have screws to remove and replace. The DELUXE 500 or DELXUE 200 use a standard AAA Battery in the back of the Remote Control.

A: - The YELLOW Antenna wire is cut to length to match the wavelength of the transmitter signal. You should secure the Antenna as vertical as possible. It should be kept away from metal and other wires, and secured to plastic.

A: - The Parking Lights are back feeding into the Brake wire; isolate the BLUE/BLACK wire with a 775 Relay.

A: - Use the BLUE wire in the 18-Pin or 16-Pin Harness. This wire is used for aftermarket alarms and can be used as a test lead. The wire is labeled AMA Input or Auxiliary Input, and is usually taped off. Touch a momentary ground on the BLUE wire and you can either start or stop the vehicle. When you are finished, tape off the BLUE wire this will tell you that the Remote Starter is functioning and all is needed is a Replacement Remote Control.

A: - The unit is programmed for TACH mode; PROGRAM it back to TACHLESS Mode.

A: - There is a ground on the BLACK/BLUE hood pin wire OR the brake wire BLUE/BLACK is connected to the wrong side of the brake switch.

A: - Press and hold the Brake. Cycle the key rapidly in the key cylinder, off to run, (7) Seven times rapidly within (5) Five seconds. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder and release the brakes. Unplug the control unit for 1 minute.
